Lola Mitchell, but Gangsta Boo — a former member of the Three 6 Mafia and a pioneer of female rap — has died.
The hip hop star’s death was confirmed by his former labelmate DJ Paul — who threw up Her photo on IG … sounds like a tribute. Many prominent artists commented with condolences. The exact circumstances surrounding his death are unknown.

Gangsta Boo’s career officially began in the ’90s, when he teamed up with Paul, Juicy J and other founding members of rap groups — including Despicable Lord, Crunchy black, Koopsta Nika Even more. Gangsta Boo was one of the only female rappers with the crew, but she’s carved her own path over the years as part of T6M.
In addition to his own solo albums, he was highly acclaimed at the time — appearing on all of Gangsta Three 6 Mafia’s first 5 studio albums … including their debut on ’95’s “Mystic Stylus.” As well as other notable projects like ‘Chapter 1,’ ‘When the Smoke Clears’ and the ‘Choices’ album served as soundtracks for the film.
Gangsta Boo left Three 6 in the early 2000s, but has since gone on to have a remarkable career — releasing another solo studio album and several mixtapes on other albums and in the 2010s. This, of course, doesn’t include the countless features he’s been a part of — working with rap titans like Gucci Mane, Lil Johnout cast, E-40, T.I., game Even more.
He continued to rap throughout the 2020s … collaborating frequently Killer Mike And p In their hip hop duo Run the Jewels. He continues to partner with various media outlets to release music such as Gangsta Boo, UPROXX and others.
Gangsta Boo was a staple of the Memphis community and music scene — apparently loved by the people there. He has been active on social media lately.
She is 43 years old.
