Shannon Doherty’s doctor and close friend described the “last few hours” before her death on Saturday.
The 53-year-old actress was “surrounded by some of her closest friends,” Dr. Lawrence D. Pyro Told the people Two days after her death.
“She was in a very comfortable place, sleeping and transitioning,” he recalled Monday, noting that a “select group” of loved ones provided her with “a lot of care and support.”

Doherty was first diagnosed in 2015 and two years later announced he was in remission.
The cancer returned in 2019 — and her condition “has been going in a different direction in the last couple of weeks,” Pyro explained to the outlet.
She said, “Things became very difficult. … We continued to fight and give more support, and we were kind and confident and supportive.
