Stephen Curry’s gold medal performance over the weekend was enough to lift the US to gold and make McDonald’s in France rethink one of their sauces.
The company joked on social media on Sunday that it might have to rethink its classic curry sauce in the face of the NBA superstar’s intense effort against France at the Olympics.
“For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce,” McDonald’s France posted on Instagram, according to a translation of the post.
The photo was captioned, “At least 4 years”.
The French are feeling a little blue after Curry’s 24-point performance and four 3-pointers in the game’s final three minutes to seal the gold medal for the U.S. on Saturday.
It was his 3-pointer with 33 seconds left on the clock that put the USA up by nine and broke French hearts.
This year’s Olympics marked the second consecutive Summer Games in which the United States and France faced off in the gold medal game.
“I’ve seen it a few times from Steph, but it never gets old,” Team USA and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters. “It’s a global sport with a lot of great players, but we still feel we have great players. They’ve all been so selfless through this whole thing, all the noise, all the pressure. We’re probably the only team in the world where the fans are embarrassed if we get a silver medal, that’s the pressure we’re under.

Curry told reporters, According to ESPNHe envisioned every shot he took going in.
“All I saw was the rim. I didn’t see who was in front of me. I knew it was kind of a late clock situation, but it caught my eye,” he said of the shot with 33 seconds left.
The Olympic fun may have been interrupted by a situation involving Curry’s wife Ayesha and mother Sonia, who appeared to have a run-in with French police after the gold medal match.
