CNN’s Alisyn Camerota reported her husband’s death 2 years after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota reports that her husband, Tim Lewis, died in July, two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is 58 years old.

Camerota, a former co-anchor of CNN’s “New Day,” “CNN Newsroom” and current political commentator, shared the news in an Instagram post Friday.

“I can’t imagine any man soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and courage than Tim,” Camerota wrote. “He was a wonderful father, husband, friend and role model, and we all strive to follow in his footsteps.”

This month marks their 23rd wedding anniversary, Camerota said.

“I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a deep, committed, loving partnership for the time we’ve had,” he wrote.

Camerota and Lewis share three children together, twin daughters Ale and Cessa and son Nate, according to her. condolence.

Lewis was involved in community service throughout his life, volunteering at homeless shelters and donating to education and scholarship funds, according to his obituary. Her family set up a fund in her memory “to help other families who are going through a similar struggle,” Camerota said.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Lewis attended Yale University and went on to a successful career in private equity and business consulting.

Camerota said she and the kids are still getting their bearings after losing Luis and trying to emulate the strength and consistency he inspired in them.

“I plan to write more in the coming days and get back to work in the next few weeks,” Camerota wrote. “Thank you all for your love and letters, plates of lasagna and so many gestures of kindness.”
