Agatha All Along First Reaction Appreciate Kathryn Hahn’s Marvel Return

Kathryn Hahn is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as witch Agatha Harkness, and members of the press seem delighted. “Agatha All Along,” the nine-episode sequel to 2021’s “Wandavision,” has been called “insanely fun” and a “dizzy follow-up” in first reactions.

“The Movie Podcast” host Daniel Baptista called Hahn’s performance “spellbinding” and “deliciously devious”.

“[‘Agatha All Along’] The perfect show for the spooky season and filled with Big Witch energy,” Baptista wrote on X/Twitter. “Kathryn Hahn is as iconic as ever and gives a deliciously sly and seductive performance. Joe Locke is a scene stealer. It’s the most fun you’ll be treated to at a show this year.

Michael Patterson of Palm Smack Paw said the series was “absolutely batshit – crazy in all kinds of ways”.

“Katherine Hahn was the force we all knew as Agatha Harkness,” Patterson wrote in X . “The rest of the cast is divine, and Joe Locke is a gem. Vivid, eccentric and brilliant.”

Many viewers also appreciated the performance of Joe Locke and Aubrey Plaza in “Agatha All Along”.

“The first 4 eps are a delightful mix of ‘Hocus Pocus’ & ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ full of horror and humor,” ScreenRands Joseph Deckelmeier wrote In X. “The series is really fun and engaging. It has the same charming vibe as ‘Wandavision’. Absolutely love the ensemble cast portraying Cowan, and Kathryn Hahn is brilliant and Aubrey Plaza is great.

“Marvel has outdone themselves [‘Agatha All Along’]!” said FanSides Cody Schultz. “Kathryn Hahn’s performance is perfect for the fans, Joe Locke’s is great & the entire ensemble is amazing. One of Marvel’s best!”

“Agatha All Along” picks up after the events of “Wandavision” where Agatha (Han) is powerless due to the Scarlet Witch known as Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). On a mission to regain her witch powers, Agatha creates a makeshift coven of her own, but not every member is of the same mind. Hahn is joined in “Agatha” by Locke, Patti LuPone, Plaza, Sasheer Jamada, Ali Ahn and Debra Jo Rupp. “WandaVision” showrunner Jake Schaefer is behind the spinoff.

Brad Winterbaum, president of Marvel Studios streaming, television and animation, recently appeared on the “Official Marvel Podcast” and said that “Agatha All Along” is only fun until it starts scaring the audience.

“‘Agatha’ is very funny, but it’s also very scary. And it gets very dramatic,” Winterbaum teased. “She’s a wonderful anti-hero. It hooks you with the fun of Halloween and before you know it, you’re crying.

“It’s a Marvel brand of horror. It’s a Halloween show,” he added. “There are dangerous stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s dangerous.
