Injuries are a part of every sport, especially football, where it seems like no team can escape at least one significant injury on a weekly basis. That was the case for many teams in Week 2 of 2024 NFL the season
Several teams suffered injuries to key players in Week 2. Let’s take a look at each of the notable injuries from the second weekend of play.
Running back
TJ Spears: The Titans suffered an ankle injury in the second half against the Jets. Spears was seen taking off her shoes and walking to the locker room with a trainer (to ESPN)
Marshawn Lloyd: Packers did not return after leaving with an ankle injury against the Colts.
Thank you Bixby: The Jaguars running back left the game against the Browns with a shoulder injury.
Wide receiver
- Justin Jefferson: The Vikings wide receiver left the game against the 49ers with what he called a hamstring injury/sprain and did not return. Jefferson, who needed help walking off the field, later said he would be fine.
- The Cooper Plot: Matthew Stafford entered this matchup without Puka Nacua, and now he may be missing Kupp. He injured his ankle in the first half against the Cardinals and never returned. The vet put a walking boot on his left foot/lower leg after the game.

- DeForest Buckner: The Colts defensive lineman was carted off against the Packers with an apparent foot/ankle injury. Buckner held his lower leg and helped himself off the field. According to Indy Star.
- BJ Hill: The Bengals’ defensive tackle injured his hamstring in the first half of Cincy’s matchup with Kansas City and will not return.
Linebacker
- CJ Mosley: The Jets linebacker left against the Titans with a leg injury. Mosley took a cart to the locker room.
- Jerome Baker: The Seahawks linebacker left with a hamstring injury against the Patriots.
- Jermaine Johnson II: The Jets pass rusher/linebacker was injured in the win over Tennessee. After the game, Johnson said Jets coach Robert Saleh “looks like it.” Tore his Achilles.

Graham Cano: The Giants kicker sat out against the Generals after aggravating a hamstring injury. Punter Jamie Gillan has taken over handling the kickoffs.
